Kentucky Primitives Little Mousie's Letter to Santa
Kentucky Primitives folk artist
Victoria Lynn
Simple Primitives done in the tradition of old
Sometimes the
simplest of things are the most beautiful.
The precious little
mouse is writing his letter to Santa. He wears his winter
hat to keep himself warm as he writes by candlelight. He is
humble and only asks for cheese for his family. Mousie is
writing this letter on a sheet of his personalized stationary with
his address and hometown where he was born in Kentucky. His
address reads:
Mousie
1865 Hollow Log Lane
Wheatfield, Ky
Little Mousie is
made in the old style. He wears a wool cap. His tail
is thick rusty wire curled up with a jingle bell hanging from the
tip. He has beads for eyes and for the tip of his nose.
His whiskers are thick thread. His tiny feet are nails and
his pencil is made from an old stick which he gathered from
outside his home in the woods. The letter is stained and is
written in a child's handwriting. The snowy tree stump
tealight candle comes with him. He is sure to melt your
heart and reminds us of what Christmas is all about, giving to
others.
Mousie is a humble
mousie and doesn't ask for much, his letter reads:
Dear Santa,
I love you
I have been very good
I have many sisters and brothers
What I would like for Christmas is
Cheese for my family
Love Mousie
God bless you.
